Why You’ll Love AWeber’s New Web Form Generator

Posted by Justin Premick

“New Web Form Generator? But AWeber already has a web form generator…”

Sure we do. And it’s helped marketers create hundreds of thousands of opt-in forms that you’ll find on websites in countless industries.

At the time we released it, the web form tool was cutting edge, and it’s stood up well over time.

But it wasn’t perfect.

It didn’t output the prettiest HTML. And while you could certainly customize that HTML to fit the look of your website, you had to do so outside of AWeber, rather than styling it before you got the form HTML, and you had to do so without any templates.

We knew we could create something better. So we did.

To prove it, here’s a video, and a list of reasons why you’re going to love our new Web Form Generator.

Web Form Templates

You may not be a web designer, but you still want a web form that looks like it was made by one.

So we’re launching the new Web Form Generator with a slew of templates to help you build great-looking forms with one click of your mouse. Currently there are about 25 template “families,” each available in a variety of colors and styles (and we’ll keep adding more).

Advanced Design Tools

Want to customize a template to make it yours? Or build your own one-of-a-kind stylish opt-in form from scratch?

The new Web Form Generator gives you the same sort of powerful design customization that you’d typically find in web design software.

You’ll drag and drop. You’ll point and click. You’ll have complete control over the feel of your forms, and you’ll make better-looking ones than ever before.

Better Popover and Lightbox Animation

Do you use “hover” style forms (like our lightbox ones) to grab visitors’ attention and lift your opt-ins?

You’ll love the updated animations used for these new forms; we’ve ditched the Windows95-looking blue bars at the top and smoothed out the fading and sliding motions.

Dynamic Thank You Pages

Want to use video on your thank you pages to increase confirmed opt-ins, but don’t have the time or equipment to make it happen?

Use our video thank you pages to provide precise instructions to each new subscriber on how to confirm.

We’ll even show them exactly what your confirm email looks like in their specific email program (Gmail, AOL, Yahoo, Hotmail, Outlook, Mac Mail, etc).

Stay Tuned For More

The new Web Form Generator will be released soon. Until then, we’ll keep filling you in on how you’ll be able to create better signup forms and improve your list-building.

Watch this blog for those – if you’re not already subscribed to the blog, get signed up below! We’ll tell you more about the new Web Form Generator, and also periodically send you other email marketing tips we publish here.

Naturally, as a permission-based email marketing company, we respect your privacy.

  4. This is incredible. I was just thinking of wanting to create a better, cooler, and more attractive opt-in web form, and you guys have already done it for me.

I hope you will be able to do this SOON for Email Newsletters. I have had a hard time creating a great looking design for my newsletter, with the current templates.

That is something that is really missing that would create the perfect complete package.

Thanks for all your hard work

    Wow!

    This sounds great!

It also seemed as if you’ve been reading my mind about the current form builder. You had it right in your opening – it was great for its time, but is a little dated now.

It’s clear that you folks put a lot of thought and effort into this upgrade, and did it with your customers in mind.

I greatly enjoyed hearing the designers talking about the project. Their commitment and passion really comes through. Making something”that’s fun, that’s cool and helps a lot of people” – who wouldn’t want to work on a project like that?

Good work, guys – thanks for all you effort.

Yeah, it does feel like you’re working for me :-)

  23. Aweber always had the best Deliverabilty , but unfortunately they also lacked nice professional templtes like their competitors have.
It’s something drove me crazy as I don;t have the time or skill to develop HTML templates. .
Now Aweber will have the best of both worlds.

  34. Great news AWeber. I am your target customer for this new capability as a NON-html person. I had to go to Constant Contact because I needed the ease of use and flexibility of themes.

I will strongly consider moving to AWeber once I can see and test your new Form Builder capability.

  38. Hey guys

It would be great if you could modify the form so that we can conduct surveys without the need to subscribe to a list, so the survey can be repeated indefinitely without running into the already subscribed issue.

And enhance your product line so we can also manage our surveys directly from your site too.

  39. Hey all,

Thanks for your enthusiasm about the new web form builder! That’s exactly how we were hoping you’d all feel about it.

A few of you have asked when it’s coming out. All I can tell you for right now is "soon enough that we’re talking about it publicly" :)

There’ll be more on the web form builder later this week on the blog – you can subscribe via the form at the end of this post (or grab the RSS feed) to stay posted.

    11/11/2009 12:29 am
  66. Eh-Weber (what we call you in Canada)… Congrats on the webform builder. Looks cool. I’ve been using a proprietary form builder for many years, but your advantage will be several fold:

    1. The code will never get lost or put on some flash drive given away!
    2. Content management drag and drop builds on existing conventions
    3. You can’t NOT look professional!
    4. Stats will be easier to track
    5. Split testing will now be possible of these forms
    6. You won’t even have to know code!
    7. It will bring new people into the market sooner

I could go on… but overall .. this is a welcome addition the family.

    11/11/2009 12:34 am
  67. Wow, this is a smart move of Aweber, getting so many welcoming responses from paid users, including mine myself!

    11/11/2009 12:44 am
  68. That’s great news and have been waiting for the extra touch. It has been needed.

Can’t wait for the release so I can apply it on to my blog and capture pages I’m launching, and new aweber video tutorials I’m doing.

    Thanks

    11/11/2009 3:28 am
  69. Carol

Fantastic news. Can’t wait for this. This has been a major source contention for me – bring it on!

Thanks for the hard and fun work!

I like going directly to action, no codes …

Can’t wait to have life just a little bit easier.

    Thanks Aweber team! You ROCK!

    11/11/2009 8:34 pm
  79. Good to hear this news. Its long overdue to be frank actually. The current design is way too plain and we almost need to customize it before using it.

Hope the new design offers a variety of customization options.

    11/12/2009 7:53 am
  80. Great, It looks really cool. This is why I stick with Aweber. Looking forward to it. Good work guys. Keep it up.

    11/12/2009 2:56 pm
  81. Will

    What a boring video.

It took 4:51 to tell me you have a new "cool" form designer. You didn’t even show it to us.

    11/12/2009 9:04 pm
  82. Yvonne

I am glad to hear this news, and I am wondering if and when a better variety of newsletter and other kinds of templates will be available. I have been very tempted to switch to Constant Contact because they have a much more appealing array of templates; and they seem to be the email service provider of choice for the local businesses that actually do any kind of email marketing.

Since my business is to provide email marketing to local businesses, it’s crucial that I be able to put out attractive html styled newsletters and event announcements. Aweber’s template choices just don’t "rock my boat."

So, any other, more attractive, more user-friendly newsletter templates coming down the pike too?

    11/13/2009 7:56 am
  83. Sounds awesome, can’t wait for this to be released (coming from someone who always seems to manage to screw up html editing of the form lol)

The sample forms shown looked very nice, awesome job aweber team!

    11/13/2009 4:53 pm
  84. cant wait for this one…i just signed up for your service yesterday.

i’m a bit struggling since i have an existing squeeze page with forms, how can i link your autoresponder to the existing forms?

    thanks alot.

    11/14/2009 8:04 am
  85. Simply awesome.

Just yesterday I was wondering about why the bar at the top of the popovers had to be medium blue all the time, and today I open up your site and hear about all these terrific enhancements you have on the way.

Very much looking forward to the improved version and can’t wait to start making good use of them.

Thanks for answering questions we’re really asking!

    11/16/2009 7:58 am
  86. Just watched the preview sounds like there has been a lot of thought that has gone into this new web form. Looking forward to experimenting with the form. That’s what i love about aweber they are always looking for new inventive ways that we can interact with our potential/ customers
