While many of our users take advantage of the HTML email templates that he and fellow design whiz Eric have created, for those of you who want to design your own great-looking HTML emails, this article is a helpful resource to refer to as you create your own template.

As of yet I haven’t started doing HTML newsletters. It’s my thought that straight text looks much less like advertising than HTML newsletters do. Are there any statistics on response rates from HTML newsletters as opposed to striaght text newsletters?

This particular article was written with designers in mind. In order to utilize the information from it you would most likely have to have somewhat of a background in coding. Its not for all but it is helpful for those who need to create html emails.@ Guy

Text Vs. HTML: Is Moderation The Key?I think all too often people look at HTML email as a "black and white" subject. Regardless of personal preference, a lot of people fail to recognize that different solutions work for different situations.
Take for example:
It might look unprofessional and unofficial for my bank to send out important information in a plain text email. So much so that unless I was expecting it I might write it off as fraud.
Although the bank email might not be designed to look like an advertisement its still an HTML email none the less.
