Why do you love email marketing?
It's easy to "Like" or follow a brand on social media, but for someone to subscribe to your list shows they're ready to take the relationship to the next level.

What's your #1 email list building tip?
Focus on quality over quantity. A smaller, more engaged list is worth a lot more than a large list of people who don't open or read your emails.

What brand's email strategy do you love?
Glossier takes the BFF-marketing approach and it totally works.

What's your favorite element to include in an email: GIFs, video, images, interactive elements or old school plain text?
I'm a big fan of minimalist emails.

What's your favorite movie?
Almost Famous
Monica Montesa
Content Marketing Specialist
Why do you love email marketing?
I ♥ email because it's a simple way to communicate with an audience in a way that can be totally personalized.

What's your #1 email content tip?
My #1 tip for writing email content is to picture a single customer/client when you're writing. This ensures you create content they'll love, and just as importantly, feels human.

What brand's email strategy do you love?
There are many, but I'd have to say I love Barkbox (dogs and humor are an ultimate win for me) and anyone who sends a long email newsletter. I don't have to leave my inbox to enjoy the content.

What's your favorite element to include in an email: GIFs, video, images, interactive elements or old school plain text?
Interactive elements, hands down.

What's your favorite TV show?
Friends (Yes, they were on a break!!)
Kim Robbins
Email Designer
Why do you love email marketing?
I love email marketing because it opens up the opportunity for subscribers and senders to learn from one another.

What's your #1 email design tip?
It's better to oversimplify than overdesign, and always be open to feedback.

What brand's email strategy do you love?
I love getting emails from Massdrop. They actually break some of the typical marketing rules I'd normally suggest, but they get away with it because their content is so dynamic and targeted.

What's your favorite element to include in an email: GIFs, video, images, interactive elements or old school plain text?
I love interactive elements and what goes into creating them, but only if it makes sense and adds value within the context of the message.

What's your favorite TV show?
It's so difficult to pick a single genre I enjoy the most, let alone a favorite show! One of my favorites is definitely Firefly, though!
Chris Vasquez
Creative Director
Why do you love email marketing?
I love the freedom that email provides. You're generally way less constrained than you are in other digital marketing channels so you can create super customized messages and experiences.

What's your #1 email optimization tip?
Never, ever stop experimenting.

What brand's email strategy do you love?
I'm genuinely excited when I see a Trello email in my inbox, even if it's transactional, because I know there's something that will surprise me or make me smile in every single email.

What's your favorite element to include in an email: GIFs, video, images, interactive elements or old school plain text?
This really depends on what I'm trying to accomplish. For example, if I'm trying to humanize my team or company to a subscriber, I would include a GIF of those folks being real people.

What's your favorite TV show?
Arrested Development

Tom Tate
Product Marketing Manager
Why do you love email marketing?
With email marketing, I'm humbled to have been invited into someone's inbox. The ability to send a personalized message that in most cases will ping my subscribers immediately on their phone, smartwatch, or desktop is unsurpassable by any other marketing channel.

What's your #1 email automation tip?
Automation will never be a substitute for authenticity. Take advantage of automated flows, but make sure your email content is valuable, actionable and uniquely you.

What brand's email strategy do you love?
The Product Hunt Daily Digest is my current go-to.

What's your favorite element to include in an email: GIFs, video, images, interactive elements or old school plain text?
I prefer plain-looking responsive HTML emails with an image of your handwritten signature.

What's your favorite TV show?
Perfect Strangers

Email gives you the ability to turn faceless leads into an audience that you know and can connect with on a regular basis. And it's all about helping your audience.

What's your #1 email monetization tip?
Give subscribers a special offer and create a sense of urgency that will encourage people to buy today.

What brand's email strategy do you love?
The Skimm

I love GIFS in email; they bring motion to the inbox and appear in most inboxes.
