After a whirlwind September, with the in-laws here and kicking off the all-new Penny Pinching Publicity, it all culminated with the most amazing and exciting event of all:Lyra & Sasha began school yesterday.
Yes, I was worried. Would they be able to handle it, especially when there was no way I could stay with them while I am trying to mend my bad back with physical therapy on the other side of the Capital Region.
Of course, I was being a bit silly about my fears. They were fine - and thrilled to get the chance to be with other kids in this integrated preschool program. It was time for them to step up their learning.
How about you? Are you afraid to step up and grab the free publicity you deserve? Believe it or notm it's the biggest problem I see when working with other small business owners.
That's why I created Penny Pinching
Publicity. It's like having a publicity firm hold your hand, taking you through one PR tactic a month so you can master it. Plus, with additional tools, like teleseminars, easy to use fill-in press release and more, you really become a publicity machine. Try Penny Pinching
Publicity out for free this month.
You will be heard!

PS: One of the things we've been talking about on Penny Pinching Publicity is blogging. Learn some of my blogging for publicity secrets in today's feature article.
Are you tired of having a business that runs you, rather than you running it?
When it feels like the weight of the world is on your shoulders I know how easy it is to fall into self-blame, but I assure you that when it seems like your hair's on fire, it's not you - it's your business systems, or the lack thereof.
When you have them, you know how much they help you to create a business that runs itself, freeing you up for hobbies, travel and spending time with family. If you don't have your business systems in place yet, there's no time like the present to begin building your business systems and start heading down the road to:
saving money
growing your business
and finding the time to finally do all the things you love
That's why, I want to introduce you to Beth Schneider. Beth is the President and CEO of Process Prodigy. She works with Entrepreneurs like yourself showing them how to cut back work hours, extend vacations, eliminate wasted time and make more money by creating Outrageously Effective Systems in their businesses.
Her client list reads like a who's who of successful business people because her tools and techniques have been proven to increase productivity by as much as 600% and profits by as much as 250%.
These are the exact systems I've been using to grow my business, while recovering from a back injury and helping my girls go to school!
If you've grown to the point of overwhelm, there are two possible outcomes, continued and growing disorganization or ... Success with Outrageously Effective Systems.
Each month Outrageously Effective Systems members get a new system that is ready to implement so they can accomplish so much more while working less.
But here's the thing: Now is the time to join. Beth is significantly raising the price of membership in which is why I wanted to tell you about this now while there is still time. The current pricing is still in effect, but it goes away TOMORROW when the cost to join will more than double. To get all the benefits of membership at the cheapest price it will EVER be, grab your spot now. Check it out at Outrageously Effective Systems.
Imagine
having all the resources in place to get your publicity machine working
for you. No struggling to write a good press release. No worries about
finding media contacts. That's what Penny Pinching Publicity is all about. It's like having your own PR consultant on speed dial.
But you need more: a one-stop-shop to not only discuss media
relations but other marketing ideas as well. So I created the all new
Penny Pinching Publicity program.

You hear it from everyone: you need a blog. It helps you relate to your
customers on a more intimate level and allows you to promote yourself
in an easier way than ever before.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah," you may
say. "One more article about what powerful a marketing tool a blog can
be, and some cheap advice about how to run one."
Nope. Actually, I am going to tell you the opposite: do not to build your own blog.
When
the rage of blogging began, the self-proclaimed blogging gurus'
arguments appeared flawless. So everybody ran out and started one
(including me).
We built and waited... and rebuilt and waited
more. In most cases, everything went back to normal after the initial
frenzy of graphic designing, image posting, and story generating. And
for most people, the expected dynamic interactions, booming visibility,
skyrocketing sales - none of it ever happened.
So you need to
decide what's the best use of your time: maintain a blog that gets
little traction in the marketplace, or find an alternative that helps
make you the go-to expert in your industry that's a better bang for
your buck!
There are other ways to harness this fast-growing
medium's power. You don't necessarily have to run your own blog. Why
not "piggyback" onto some related well-built blogs that have already
gained popularity and credibility?
Here are some ideas to get you thinking about using other blogs to leverage your publicity:
Determine
your marketing goals. As with any marketing strategy, consider what you
hope to achieve before you plunge into your blog marketing efforts.
Enhance visibility? Increase market share or mind share? Boost
bottom-line? Build reputation?
Target your blog marketing
efforts. Business gets much easier when marketing is targeted rather
than shotgun. Evaluate the quality of information on related blogs and
pick out the ones that best match your marketing goals.
Monitor
public buzz. Monitor what people are saying to determine how your brand
and close competitors are doing. Knowing where, why, and how you're
being trashed or praised in popular blogs allows you to respond
appropriately and quickly. You must be able to react to relevant topics
quickly - before they become full-blown issues. A good idea is to
monitor your company name and other keywords using Google News Alerts.
Analyze
broader category or product information. Consumers may discuss products
in general terms, without using brand names. Monitor the information
landscape to determine the macro trends and issues that influence
buyers. A food producer may check for terms such as "diet" and "low
carb" for example. This can help you find relevant information that
guides your marketing strategy.
Engage bloggers by commenting on
key business topics. Read blogs that are related to your products or
company to understand the bloggers' perspective. Strategically respond
to postings to initiate dialogue and to correct misinformation.
Initiate
incentive programs. Bloggers can influence a brand's future based on
their personal perceptions. If they exert positive influence, make sure
they feel like they've gained more than they've given.
