How Do I Use Autoresponder Send Windows?

Autoresponders are sent based on intervals set in numbers of days. When the interval between messages has been completed for a subscriber, by default the next message is sent sometime that day, regardless of what day of the week it is.

The Autoresponder Send Windows feature provides more powerful control of autoresponder scheduling, so you can choose both days of the week and times of day you'd like to restrict your sending schedule to.

For example, you might judge that your best results would be achieved sending messages strictly on weekdays, between 9am to 3pm. By using Autoresponder Send Windows, you can customize the scheduling to your preference.

How to Use Autoresponder Send Windows

Step by Step Instructions

  1. Create or edit an autoresponder.

Note: the first message in a follow up sequence, the welcome message, will always be sent immediately after subscription, so send windows don't apply to these messages. When following these instructions, create or edit an additional message in the sequence.
  2. Scroll past the body of your message and click on the checkbox labeled "Only deliver this message on certain days and times." You will then see a panel of options for days and times:
  3. Using the checkboxes, select only the days of the week you'd like to allow this message to be sent on.

Note: If, based on a message interval, a subscriber is ready to receive this message on a day you have not checked, they will receive it the next day of the week that is checked.

  4. Using the two drop-down boxes, establish the range of time you'd like to send the messages on during the days you've selected.

Note: If you'd prefer a more specific schedule, with different time windows on certain days of the week, click on the "Add" button and set up another combination of days and times.
  5. By default, messages are sent in a time window based on each subscriber's time zone (based on where they access the internet). This should be preferred, but if you'd rather send messages at a single, specific time based on the Eastern Time Zone, uncheck this box:
  6. If you'd prefer to apply this same sending window to every message in your follow up sequence (besides the welcome message), check the box labeled "Apply these days and times to ALL messages".
