What Holidays Might I Use To Send Messages?

Holidays offer a great opportunity to connect with your subscribers and build on your relationship with them. And a lot of publishers utilize them for just that purpose.

Two of the most popular calendar days for AWeber users to send messages are:
Overall mail volume spikes significantly during those holidays.

What Does This Mean For You?

Not only are your subscribers receiving a message from you, they're also receiving messages from a lot of other people (either as part of other opt-in subscriptions, or simply from family and friends).

While New Year's and Christmas are certainly good opportunities to connect with your readers, they don't address (for most niches) a particular interest or need. And while many of us celebrate those holidays, there are tons of other major ones that might be of more importance to your subscribers.

That got us to thinking...

What Other Holidays Are Out There?

.... that you could be using to your advantage?

Your readers have specific unique interests, and may either observe, or at the very least be curious about, holidays related to those interests.

So we did a little searching and came up with a few resources that you can use to find more special occasions for marketing to your subscribers.

Some of the links below are from Google Calendar, a free online calendar application. We use it here at AWeber and have found it to be pretty handy. So if you're not yet using any calendar software, you may find it helpful.

Major Holidays

Information on national, bank and other major holidays tends to be broken up by region or country. We've included the major holidays from a number of countries in our Holiday Marketing Calendar:

We note where appropriate when a holiday is for a specific country.

If you prefer to keep holiday calendars separate by country, here are some links to get you started:

US Holidays

UK Holidays

Canada Holidays

Australia Holidays

Holiday calendars for more countries are available in Google Calendar:
Wikipedia also has an extensive list of holidays by country.

Lesser-Known Holidays

And now for something completely different...

Do your subscribers love chocolate chips? National Chocolate Chip Day is May 15th.

What about talking in elevators (last Friday in July)?

International Dadaism Month isn't really a month at all. It's thirteen days spread over the year.

Off-the-wall events like these are also opportunities to get in touch with your subscribers. So, we've included a lot of them in our Holiday Marketing Calendar.

The point is, there's a holiday for just about everything. And every one of these is potentially an opportunity for you to provide value and market your business.
