How Can I Send My Recent Newsletter to New Subscribers?

The importance of sending regular messages to subscribers is hard to overstate. Sending a periodical newsletter using our broadcast feature is an excellent way to accomplish this.

However, since broadcast messages are sent only once at the specific date and time you set, if someone subscribes shortly after you send a newsletter, by default, they won't receive one until you send the next broadcast.

Clearly, if they're signing up for a newsletter, they'd like to receive one soon after. Fortunately, there's an easy way to address this. You'll just need to copy the broadcast to a follow up message.

How to Send a Recent Edition of Your Newsletter to New Subscribers

1. Compose your broadcast message for your newsletter. On your own computer, open up Notepad or an equivalent plain-text editor.

2. Copy and paste both the plain-text and HTML versions (you'll have to switch to the Source tab) of your broadcast to that program.

3. Create a new follow up message. This may be the autoresponder (first message) for the list, or one that follows shortly after it (say the second or third message).

4. Paste in both the plain-text and HTML versions of the broadcast message you've copied. Make sure to switch back to the "html Code" tab you used when you copied the HTML before pasting.

5. Repeat these steps each time you send a new version of your newsletter, using the same follow up message number, replacing the content from the last newsletter you'd sent.

Once you've saved the message, when new people subscribe to your list, they'll receive the most recent version of your newsletter by follow up, then receive newsletters by broadcast moving forward.
If you add a new follow up message to your series of messages, a duplicate of your newsletter may be sent to existing subscribers.

To avoid having it sent, you can either replace an existing message with the newsletter, or change the set message number for subscribers.
