Blog Broadcast Migration 10/7/09 and FeedBurner Reporting
Posted by Justin PremickHere’s a quick note for those of you who convert RSS to email using our Blog Broadcast tool and also use a FeedBurner RSS feed.
This Wednesday, 10/7/09 we will be making some back-end changes to the Blog Broadcast tool that may cause subscriber numbers reported to FeedBurner to temporarily be inaccurate. The reporting should be back to normal within 1-3 days.
These changes help pave the way for a number of enhancements we have planned for the Blog Broadcast tool. Thanks for your patience while the stats reporting sorts itself out!

I would love to know how to better grow my lists and what others are putting into their emails to keep people from unsubscribing.

Any hints about what the upcoming enhancements to the Blog Broadcast tool are going to be?

I have seen my unsubscription rate go down by following the simple rule. I used to send updates weekly of the blog broadcast and when I changed it to send only when item count is 10 decreased my unsubscription rate because normally it takes a fortnight for me to have 10 blogposts and that also mean I have more content into the emails.

More than 3 days have gone by, and the Feedburner subscriber number dropped by 20k. Are the changes still being processed?

Allowing multiple RSS feeds to populate content in the email would be a huge improvement. The current single feed ability is a bit limiting.

You must provide valuable useful and helpful information to keep unsubscribes low. Make people look forward to hearing from you. what ever your topic is, become an expert. Why did people sign up in the first place? what are they looking for? No one wants another sales pitch.
Even with the best content, people will unsubscibe anyway. folks are just over loaded with email. Don’t take it personal. Just provide value to minimize.
