Creating Web Forms Just Got Easier
Posted by Justin PremickOur development team has a blast putting together new features. Like everyone here, they’re all about helping you manage your opt-in email campaigns more efficiently, and adding features to our service is a natural part of that.
But it’s not always about adding more more MORE.
Sometimes the best stuff they do is take features we already have and make them easier to use.
For Example…
We regularly hear from customers telling us how much they like our Web Form Generator. It helps them create customized web forms for their site without having to know how to write HTML — making collecting opt-in subscribers a snap.
A while back we took a look at it and decided that we could make it even more powerful and intuitive. So, our development team got to work. After a lot of tweaking and a lot of testing, we’re rolling it out to you.
I think you’ll like it.
New Web Form Generator Highlights
- Drag-and-Drop Fields into Your Form
- Add Custom Fields On-The-Fly
- Preview Your Form While Editing
- Custom Dropdown Lists (i.e. States, Countries, Years)
Watch the Web Form Generator video:
What Does This Mean?
All in all, the Web Form Generator is easier to use than ever. So you’ll be able to crank out web forms faster and spend more time doing… anything else. After all, you came to us to automate your business and save time, right?

This would make creating forms like I have on my site a breeze!
For one, the drag & drop will help eliminate errors when trying to code those "custom field" names (which alway have a space in it).

It’s great to see that aweber isn’t content with already being the best responder service but keeps adding more features and improving existing ones. I’ve been here less than a year, and it is amazing how much has been added in that time.
Thanks.

Thank you!
The new web form generator is so simple I don’t have to bug the code heads I know!
The tutorial is great and simple to follow; Aweber is truly the best auto responder on the planet. -

I love the new drag and drop and ‘instant new fields’ features. Much easier than having to remember to set up custome fields before starting.
One question: In the previos version you could design your form content to include additional text, bullet points, etc. which was great for the pop over/unders. Is all that done in the ‘headline’ section now?

Carol,
Yes, any text, images, etc. you want to have appear above the fields should be placed in the headline.

I have tried about 6 other autoresponders and found most to be lacking or have a big learning curve. Not so much with aweber. It is the best I’ve found to use for my 100+ sites and hope it adds more money to the bottom line.
Keep up the good work and Happy New Year!

Sounds great - especially the different types of forms you can create (I particularly liked the "slide in".
What about accessing fields that have already been entered though - how do you access them?

Mike,
If you already have fields created, they’ll be available on the left side of the page, where you can drag-and-drop them into your form.

Is there a way to indicate to the prospect which fields are mandatory for the web form (maybe an asterisk or something)?

Jenna,
Yes, you can add that asterisk into the field labels while setting up your form. Simply click on the field you want to edit, then make your changes in the text box that appears at left.

I know this is a really old post but could you possibly create a post showing us how to modify the layout on pop-ups and hovers? It would be really cool to be able to do a little more html editing, inserting pictures, changing the lenght of the "name" and "email" field etc.
I know all of this is possible when using the html code for the form but when we’re talking pop-ups and hovers it is stated that we’ll need to use the javascript in order for it to work (which then leaves out a lot of the editing option).
Thank you in advance.
