by Justin Premick on August 30th, 2007

Save and Restore Your DraftsEver been working on a message, and then clicked away from the edit screen without saving? Or wished you could undo your changes and revert to what you had before? Or had problems with your computer and had to restart without being able to save your work?

You’ve probably at least once wished you could go back and recover the text that you’d entered in a message.

Well, now you can.

Happy Birthday to Us…

by Justin Premick on August 28th, 2007

Birthday Hats…what, you didn’t bring cake and ice cream?

Nine years ago this week, the very first paying AWeber user started setting up and running an email campaign.

We’ve come a long way — more features, more users and a much better-looking website than the original. (Doesn’t that flashing credit card icon at the top look sweet? ;))

As we roll on toward a decade of helping small businesses manage their email marketing, I thought it’d be fun to put together a timeline of the last 9 years of AWeber, with a few changes and features highlighted.

Improved Customer Support Hours 8AM-8PM

by Justin Premick on July 18th, 2007

ClockHere at AWeber we pride ourselves on paying attention to what our users need and want.

In response to your feedback, last year we took our outstanding customer support and made it available for 12 hours a day, from 7AM to 7PM Eastern time. And then we added live people to answer the phone, email and chats on Saturdays, too.

Well, even with all the great feedback you’ve given us on our enhanced support, we felt we could make it even better.

Free Holiday Marketing Calendar

by Justin Premick on July 10th, 2007

Ever have a great idea for an email, but struggle to link what you want to say to something that will get subscribers’ attention?

Marc recently blogged about how you can use news to get your message across by connecting emotion with your message.

News is a great resource you can use to connect with readers - but it’s not the only one. Holidays are another tool that can produce such connections between your email content and your subscribers’ emotions.

Do We Answer Questions Before You Ask Them?

by Justin Premick on May 25th, 2007

crystal_ball.pngI love reading support tickets.

Most of them are simple Q&As, but every once in a while we get one that just… well, makes our day.

But this? This is possibly the Best. Support. Ticket. Ever.

Holiday Hours & System Maintenance

by Tom Kulzer (AWeber CEO) on May 25th, 2007

AWeber’s support office will be closed on:

As always, we will be monitoring the system and the support inbox to address any critical issues. Our support team will be back in the office at 7AM Eastern time Tuesday.

Mentioned in other posts our technical team has been hard at work behind the scenes making continued upgrades to our infrastructure. Most of the time this can be done transparently, sometimes not.

More...During this time the customer and affiliate control panel areas of the website may be intermittently unavailable for login. All other aspects of the website should continue to function normally such as, new subscriber opt-ins, open rate tracking, click tracking links, unsubscribe requests, etc. Thank you for your patience during this time period.

UPDATE: 8:30am EST. All system maintenance is complete and full access to the customer area has been restored. Our apologies for the maintenance taking longer than expected. Thank you for your patience while our team works diligently behind the scenes to continue building AWeber and adding exciting new features to enhance your business. -Tom K.

UPDATE: 10:00am EST. We were premature in saying things were complete unfortunately. We’ve had to take control panel access off to finish some database optimizations that brought things to a grind while trying to be done live. Again, any subscribers subscribing to your lists or clicking on your links will work just fine and be collected. This is only customer account access that’s offline. Thank you for your patience, my apologies for going outside of our scheduled period as unfortunately sometimes the plan doesn’t work exactly the way you expected in real life. -Tom K.

UPDATE: 3:30pm EST. I appreciate the extreme patience everyone has had thru this much longer than planned control panel maintenance window. Rest assured we are working as quickly as possible to restore access. -Tom K.

UPDATE: 4:42pm EST. Account control panel access has been fully restored as of this time. Any subscribers whom filled in a web form today will appear in your account for viewing over the next few hours. Thank you again for everyone’s patience today while we sorted out the unexpected issues. -Tom K.

System Maintenance Thursday Early AM

by Tom Kulzer (AWeber CEO) on May 9th, 2007

The final stages of an extensive network facilities upgrade are to be completed Thursday. Over the past month our technical team has been migrating our servers from 2 locked cabinets into a private cage with 6 cabinets. This will allow for continued scaling to keep up with the millions of daily website hits and the introduction of several powerful new features and services.

Schedule:

During this time the customer and affiliate control panel areas of the website may be intermittently unavailable for login. All other aspects of the website should continue to function normally such as, new subscriber opt-ins, open rate tracking, click tracking links, unsubscribe requests, etc.

Thank you for your patience during this time period.

Online Credit Card Updating

by Justin Premick on April 16th, 2007

Psst… we made a subtle but much-requested update to your account’s Billing area recently.

Remember how you used to have to call us up, or send in an authorization form, to change your credit card?

No longer!

Now, you can securely update your credit card in seconds, directly in your account.

Just go to your Billing Page, click the Add Credit Card button at the end, and enter your card details in the form that appears.

You can still call us if you want, of course ;) - but this should make things a bit quicker for you.
