Inserting a Picture in your HTML Message
Posted by Sean CohenWhen creating an HTML email it is certainly possible to insert a picture, but the picture needs to be hosted online. In this tutorial I will walk you through the steps involved in taking a picture from your website and inserting it in an email.
Keep in mind that a picture can only be displayed when creating an HTML message. The following instructions outline how to insert a picture when using the WYSISYG editor in the AWeber control panel.
Step 1:
Find the picture on your website that you want to use in your email.
Once the picture has been located on your website then use your mouse and [right click] on the image. This will display a menu with several different options. Click the option that says “Properties”.
This will bring up a box titled “Element Properies”.

Here you can find the Location [URL] for the image you want to copy.
Next you want to highlight the Location URL and then hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard and click the letter “C”. This will copy the URL you have highlighted to your clipboard.
Step 2:
Now that you have the URL copied to your clipboard you can go back to your AWeber account and open the message where you want to insert the image.
Place your curser at the exact place in your message where you want the picture to be displayed and click on the “Insert Image Button” in the HTML editor.

This will now bring up a box titled “Image Properties”
Place your cursor in the text box labeled “Image URL:”. Hold down the CTRL key on your key board and click the letter “V”. This will paste the url you have saved to your clipboard into this text field.
You have successfully inserted a picture in your HTML email.

If you do not have a website you can still use an image that you have saved on your computer. You need to first insert that image online by using one of many free online photo services such as photobucket.com. Once you have decided on a photo sevice please read their rules carefully as they might have specific regulations on using their service to display pictures on a website or email.

This answers several questions I’ve been promising myself to research “someday when I find time.” You’ve saved me both
the time and trouble. I definitely will be clipping this.
Thanks, Sean. -
