Alternate 1ShoppingCart Integration
Posted by Justin PremickMany AWeber customers use their accounts in conjunction with 1ShoppingCart by placing an opt-in form on the page that buyers are taken to after a successful purchase. This process is detailed in an earlier 1ShoppingCart integration article.
However, as some users have pointed out, it is also possible to use an email parser to collect your 1ShoppingCart buyers in a customer list.
As part of our series of integration articles, details on using AWeber’s 1ShoppingCart email parser are below.
Integrating AWeber with 1ShoppingCart - Step By Step
Download a PDF of this article or follow the steps below.
1. Enable AWeber’s 1ShoppingCart Email Parser
- Login to your AWeber account at http://www.aweber.com/login.htm
- Click on the “List Settings” tab, then the “Email Parser” link
- From the list of parsers that appears, find the one that reads Payment Processor: 1ShoppingCart.com Orders
- Mark the checkbox to the right of that parser, then click the Activate/Deactivate button
2. Get Your AWeber Autoresponder Email Address
- Find the “Select List” dropdown menu in the upper right-hand corner of the control panel
- In the dropdown menu is your autoresponder email address (your listname @aweber.com)
Tip: If you want to change your list name, click the “List Settings” tab and do so there. Changing the list name will change the first part (up to the @ symbol) of your AWeber autoresponder email address
3. Send 1ShoppingCart Orders To Your Autoresponder
- Login to your 1ShoppingCart account at http://www.1shoppingcart.com/shopping-cart-login.asp
- On the left side of the 1ShoppingCart control panel, click the “Cart Setup” link
- On the Cart Setup page, enter your AWeber autoresponder email address in one of the first two fields (Order Notice Email - Primary or Secondary)
Tip: Since 1ShoppingCart lets you send the notifications to more than one address, you can also have a copy sent to your own personal address by entering it in the other field
- Complete the 1ShoppingCart steps for creating a product (see http://www.mcssl.com/webhelp/ for assistance)
Now, when someone purchases your product through 1ShoppingCart, they will be added to your customer list!

I implemented this the other day. Very useful. However, I had to fiddle with some of the parser settings because it kept capturing MY email address, instead of the order.
I created my own parser and included the following: (All matches on BODY)
Trigger Rule: \n[>\s]*Order ID:\s+(.+?)\n
\n[>\s]*Email:\s+(.+?)\n
\n[>\s]*Name:\s+(.+?)\n
\n[>\s]*State:\s+(.+?)\n
\n[>\s]*Country:\s+(.+?)\n

Will this also add the customer’s name to our aweber autoresponders?
Also can we have additional info added, such as address, city, state, phone, etc

Ty,
Yes, the 1ShoppingCart parser will capture name and email address. It can also capture the buyer’s State, Country and the Order Date (you would need to create these as the first 3 custom fields in your list at the "List Settings" > "Custom Fields" page).

We use X-Cart for payment processing on this site. Do you have any suggestions for how to build it into the order system?
Thanks

Do customers need to confirm being added to the list? Though 1ShoppingCart’s autoresponder capabilities is weak compared to AWeber, it’s integrated. So when a customer completes the order, they are automatically added to the list with no additional confirmation necessary.

Mike,
They do need to confirm.
Confirmed Opt-In ensures that they do indeed want to be on your list, and helps us to provide the best possible deliverability for your messages. It also provides the audit trail necessary to protect you from false spam complaints.
Bear in mind, someone may be your customer, but in the eyes of an ISP, that does not necessarily mean the person wants to be subscribed to a customer newsletter. It’s important to be able to demonstrate that this person has consented to receive messages from you.
Email Tips.
